  • Day : 1 Arrival in Kigali

    Arrival at Kigali International Airport. Transfer to hotel. Explore Kigali Genocide Memorial Center. Overnight in Kigali.

    Kigali Genocide Memorial Center: The Kigali Genocide Memorial commemorates the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The remains of over 250,000 people are interred there. There is a visitor centre for students and others wishing to understand the events leading up to the genocide that occurred in Rwanda in 1994.

  • Day : 2 Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

    Drive to Volcanoes National Park. Visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village. Overnight near Volcanoes National Park.

    Volcanoes National Park: Volcanoes National Park is a national park in northwestern Rwanda. It covers 160 km² of rainforest and encompasses five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains, namely Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo.

    Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village: Iby'Iwacu village is located around Parc National des Volcans in Nyabigoma, Kinigi, Musanze district, Northern Province.   • Day : 3 Gorilla Trekking

    Early morning gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight near Volcanoes National Park.

    Gorilla Trekking: Gorilla Trekking is a wildlife activity that involves hiking through dense forest in search of wild gorillas. The activity includes walking through steep hills, dense forest, rivers and water streams before finally encountering a gorilla family.

  • Day : 4 Lake Kivu

    Drive to Lake Kivu. Relax by the lakeside. Optional boat ride or water activities. Overnight at a hotel by Lake Kivu.

    Lake Kivu: Lake Kivu is one of the African Great Lakes. It lies on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and is in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu empties into the Ruzizi River, which flows southwards into Lake Tanganyika.

  • Day : 5 Akagera National Park

    Drive to Akagera National Park. Afternoon game drive. Overnight in Akagera National Park or nearby accommodation.

    Akagera National Park: Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It's characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.

  • Day : 6 Departure

    Morning game drive (optional). Transfer to Kigali International Airport for departure.
